  • Why did you want to become an Exercise physiologist?
Growing up I had my fair share of sporting injuries (mainly soft tissue ones from soccer) and was constantly re-injuring myself, even after multiple treatment sessions with various health professionals. It wasn’t until I started strength training that I noticed the injuries becoming less frequent until there were no more that I realised the power of the tailored exercise training.

What do you love the most about your job?
When I get to see the joy one receives when they regain part of their capacity/ability they thought they’d lost as a result of their sessions.

Can you share a memorable success story of a client you've worked with?
I had a client previously with a condition called Chronic Patellar Chondromalacia. They were told they had the knees of an 80 year at half the age. Most types of physical activity were unrealistic for them as the load bearing through the knees caused too much pain. Kneeling and sitting crossed legged were impossible to complete. After training for some time with me, this client one day rocked up with a big smile and explained they were able to sit cross legged once again.

Where will we find you outside of the workplace?
Spending time with my family and trying to take up golf after hanging up the soccer boots.
